Our Story

How Dechoker Came to Life

In 2009, Alan Carver was attending sea school to obtain a 200-ton captain's license when he realized there was little treatment for a choking emergency while at sea. This sparked the development of the Dechoker anti-choking device.

The company was founded in 2010 in Destin, Florida. Mr. Carver worked tirelessly on his design, along with respected medical device engineers, a team of medical advisors, and health care consultants.

Today, Dechoker is fully assembled in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Our device has sold hundreds of thousands of units and has hundreds of reported life saves. Dechoker is proud to work with multiple school districts and emergency first responders.
